This role is to directly support Malaysia & Singapore markets and business units, with a full scope of controllership activities. The primary objective of this role is to ensure all entities within the market are compliant from a statutory and reporting perspective within the specified deadlines and will add value to the business stakeholders by providing analysis and insight from controllership perspective. The incumbent must sustain a strong relationship with the Senior Leadership Stakeholders, Finance community and other parts of the Regional and Global business.

You will be responsible for balance sheet integrity, supporting key financial processes including month end close, cashflow reporting/forecasting, statutory financial reporting and managing external audit relationships.  You will ensure compliance and control on processes, adherence to policies and will act as the primary contact for audits.

You will also be working closely with the Regional, Country, and Global finance colleagues. We are looking for someone who not only has the capability to meet technical requirements but also displays the behaviors needed to interact with stakeholders at different levels across countries and cultures.

About the role:

  • Deliver accurate financial reporting to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual global deadlines for month end closing while maintaining the compliance to accounting policies
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory filings and reporting deadlines for all entities and countries within the market.
  • Ensure efficient and effective completion of internal and external statutory audit, tax filings, submission to authorities within deadlines.
  • Manage variance analysis for balance sheet and identify risk and opportunities. Be a trusted advisor applying sound judgment and provide recommendations to mitigate risks to support financial targets
  • Supporting commercial business on any controllership aspects ie. contracts with customers
  • Explain and execute the accounting standards, delegated authority matrix and Experian policies and assess control risk as necessary
  • Identify process standardization and optimization of reporting opportunities and deliver ways to simplify the finance processes to create informative, value-adding outputs
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests in a timely and professional manner

 

Qualifications

More About You:

  • Minimum 6 solid years’ relevant experience in audit or controllership with qualification of CA/CPA/CIMA/ACCA/ICAEW and related is required for this role
  • Experience in financial reporting for a complete entity, accounting standards interpretation, local tax regulations and managing external/internal audit. Candidate with financial reporting experience in SEA market is preferable
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with a range of stakeholders remotely
  • Ability to work in a complex, fast paced environment and respond under ambiguous situations
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and is highly logical and numerate
  • Ability to present ideas and opinions in a collaborative, credible and influential manner
  • A continuous improvement mind-set and experience in process improvement will be an added advantage
