Job Description
Ensure the organization is prepared for scheduled and impromptu audits and provide auditors with all the information they may need. Conduct tax/compliance risk assessment and keeping an eye on any legislative changes to maintain Expeditor’s compliant position.
Tax Compliance :
- Develop the organization’s tax compliance program to ensure all internal practices adhere to applicable laws, regulations and policies.
- Review and management of the filing and payment of tax returns for income tax, withholding taxes, payroll taxes, Value-added Tax (VAT), and other taxes with the BIR.
- Review and submission of reportorial requirements to the BIR and other regulatory agencies.
- Securing of licenses and permits from regulatory agencies such as BOC, DTI, MIAA and the SEC.
- Application of business permits and payment of local business taxes and real property taxes with the local government units (LGUs)
- Application of tax treaty reliefs and residency certificates for preferential tax availments.
- Preparation and review of Transfer Pricing Documentation (TPD) in coordination with external accounting firm.
- Registration and retirement with LGUs and BIR of all business branches.
- Overall management of tax accounting, corporate tax reporting, and document archiving.
- Inspect legal means of reducing tax liability and analyze income tax deductions.
- Participate in the creation and implementation of the organization’s tax strategy and guidelines.
- Manages and ensures company’s use and compliance with tax incentives with PEZA and its regulations.
- Provide assistance and tax expertise for internal company clients on tax-related queries.
- Leads major tax-relevant projects/initiatives.
Tax Audits/Cases/Refunds :
- Management and coordination with external legal consultants for the efficient closure of BIR tax audits and local tax inspections and investigations, including cases pending with the courts.
- Responsible for overall management of VAT refunds with the BIR.
- Responsible for official correspondences with the tax authorities and regulatory agencies in matters of tax compliance and registrations/accreditations of the Company.
Tax Planning and Support/Risk Management :
- Conduct research and study on tax minimization and tax efficiency initiatives and management of any tax exposure of the company.
- Provides tax update, advisories and tax trainings for the employees.
Compliance:
- Review company internal controls, specifically the Fınancıal Process Control Documentation.
- Promote compliance in diligently following all company policies and regulations and in being the role model of integrity and pride for all employees.
- Proactively communicate with the team to ensure continuous awareness and understanding of policies and regulations.
- Maintain a positive relationship with the Trade Compliance Manager and support all compliance efforts and trainings.

Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND BEHAVIOURS:
Knowledge:
- Strong Accounting and Finance knowledge
- Expertise in Local Tax Laws
- Global Logistics Industry knowledge
Skills:
- Proficient in MS Office, including Excel Formulas and Pivot Tables
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with an attention to the details.
- Fluent in English
- Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to financial persons as well as non-financial persons at all levels from Operations to Senior Management to obtain positive results.

Education and Experience:
- 4 + years of accounting specific qualification and taxation
- CPA is an advantage
