Job Description
Scope of Position:
The Air Import Agent is responsible for the end-to-end coordination of international air import shipments. This role ensures freight moves efficiently through the supply chain while maintaining compliance with company standards, customer requirements, and government regulations. The Air Import Agent serves as the primary point of contact for customers, airlines, brokers, trucking providers, and internal teams while providing exceptional customer service.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Operations
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of air import shipments.
- Receive, review, and process shipping documents.
- Track and trace shipments from origin through delivery.
- Coordinate with airlines, customs brokers, carriers, warehouses, and overseas offices.
- Monitor shipment milestones and resolve delays proactively.
- Ensure freight availability and delivery arrangements are completed on time.
- Maintain accurate shipment records and data entry in company operating systems.
- Follow all Operational Performance Standards (OPS) and workboard requirements.
Financial Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely customer billing and vendor payables.
- Verify shipment costs and revenue recognition requirements.
- Identify and communicate billing discrepancies.
- Support department profitability through accurate financial processing.
Compliance & Quality
- Maintain compliance with company policies, operational procedures, and government regulations.
- Complete required compliance checks and documentation.
- Follow customs, security, and customer-specific requirements.
- Support continuous process improvement initiatives within the department.
Personal Development:
- ets company standards of 52 hours training per year per employee.
- Attend training classes when required.
- Complete mandatory training when required.

Qualifications
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of international logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain operations.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous freight forwarding or logistics experience.
- Understanding of customs clearance and import processes.
- Experience working with shipment management systems.
- IATA or industry-related training is a plus.
