Job Description
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for managing the end-to-end customs clearance process, ensuring timely and compliant movement of import shipments. This role requires strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and the ability to review, validate, and process entry documentation with a high level of accuracy. This position follows an afternoon schedule to support operational coverage and shipment flow.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing import shipments from arrival through customs clearance
- Preparing and submitting customs entries in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Reviewing documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance
- Coordinating with internal teams, customers, and government agencies to resolve issues
- Monitoring shipment status and maintaining visibility through tracking and reporting tools
Maintains compliance with all applicable regulations and internal standards while identifying opportunities to improve processes and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in customs brokerage, freight forwarding, or international logistics
- Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, including classification, valuation, and country of origin requirements
- Experience reviewing and processing import documentation across air, ocean, and/or ground shipments
- Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) preferred
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues efficiently
- Proven ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication and collaboration skills when working with customers, internal teams, and government agencies
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and operational systems
