As a Transport Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of Air, LCL, and FCL shipments in accordance with customer delivery instructions. You will utilise Expeditors-approved transport providers while proactively avoiding or minimising storage and detention charges.

You will have the autonomy to provide exceptional customer service both internally and externally, applying company standards and processes to ensure smooth, timely, and compliant deliveries at all times. This role requires strict adherence to Expeditors policies, as well as all relevant government and regulatory requirements, including the handling of Dangerous Goods where applicable.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

  • Communicate effectively with customers and service providers to ensure a compliant and complete shipment process in a timely manner
  • Accurately document customer requirements for future reference
  • Strive for service excellence through proactive issue resolution and professional communication

Operational Excellence

  • Take ownership of understanding and complying with Expeditors’ internal process standards
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant deliveries
  • Complete customer billings and system updates accurately and within required timeframes
  • Ensure compliance with all transport, safety, and regulatory requirements, including Dangerous Goods procedures when applicable

Service Provider Relationships

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with service providers, including shipping lines, transport companies, and freight yards
  • Collaborate with partners to ensure customers are serviced to a consistently high standard

Qualifications

  • Competent use of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Experience with Expedient and the ICS system preferred but not essential
  • Courteous and professional communication and phone manner
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail
  • Qualification and/or demonstrated ability to process Dangerous Goods (DG) freight in compliance with relevant regulations (e.g. IATA, IMDG, and applicable local transport requirements)
  • Strong understanding of safety, compliance, and documentation requirements related to Dangerous Goods handling
