Job Description
To support the Customs Brokerage Manager in the smooth running of the department, promoting the customs product in the marketplace through a focus on Operations, Finance, Sales, People, Systems, and Culture. To remain in full adherence to the company’s policies, procedures, and business code of conduct.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage and keep all client SOPs updated, ensuring operational accuracy and timely pre-alert creation.
- Monitor customs notifications, resolve operational issues, and provide guidance to Customer Service and clients on compliance and process-related matters.
- Analyze departmental productivity and statistics, coordinate monthly performance reviews, and implement corrective actions when needed.
- Support business transitions, system enhancements, and continuous process improvements within the department.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, execute strong internal financial controls, and contribute to achieving revenue targets.
- Foster collaboration by leading team huddles, organizing monthly meetings, and participating in staff development, goal setting, and performance evaluations.
- Maintain a strong relationship with Trade Compliance and support ongoing training and adherence to regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- University degree in International Trade or Customs.
- 3 years of experience in the customs sector in Costa Rica.
- Proven supervisory attitude
- Solid understanding of the current customs business environment.
- Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results
- Proficiency in the following software: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Delimp.
- English & Spanish fluency required
