Job Description

Position Title: LAS Operations Agent

 

Scope of Position  

The LAS Operations Agent will be responsible for daily operating functions associated with Expeditors linehaul unloading/loading, local delivery and pickup unloading/loading, system processing, billing, and customer service functions.  

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Forklift certified
  • Oversee linehaul unloading each morning and ensure all freight is accounted for
  • Logging exceptions for shorts or damages
  • Warehouse inventory management (organization of freight)
  • Track and Trace domestic inbound files and reporting
  • Create delivery orders for local deliveries
  • Schedule delivery appointments per customer requirements
  • Network communications, timely responses to emails and requests (internal and external)
  • Provide weekend coverage for cartage operation
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry into our operational system
  • Ensure smooth and timely freight process flow
  • Quote and follow up on shipment requests
  • Daily invoicing and rate accuracy auditing
  • Use Domestic Workflow on daily basis
  • Ensure accurate and timely client and vendors billing
  • Interact with our customers in arranging their domestic shipments, meeting customer service standards
  • Contribute to maintain good relationships with internal Expeditors offices and delivery contacts
  • Meet compliance at all times to regulations internal and external in accordance with government regulations
  • Understand department process flow, and looking for best practices to improve operational efficiency and productivity
  • Ensure all customers standard operating procedures in place and updated in the SOP’s
  • Meet KPI standards in accordance with the Company’s procedures
  • Escalation of problems to Management when necessary
  • Promote compliance in diligently following all company policies and regulations and performing the task at hand with outstanding integrity and pride

Customer Relationships

  • Build rapport within Expeditors and externally with customers
  • Provide friendly & helpful customer service in all forms of communication to customers, and other Expeditors branches

 

Service Provider Management

  • Meet regularly with service providers and set clear service expectations and feedback
  • Monitor KPI’s with service providers including DLV and POD
