Job Description
To support the Expeditors facility in the pursuit of Warehouse Excellence by embracing a culture of safety and security in a facility that is efficient and meets high quality standards through continuous improvement and modernization.
Facility Operations
Ensure a safe and secure work environment
Maintain warehouse procedures and safety standards
Maintain a clean and professional facility
Ensure all equipment used is in a safe operational condition before/after use.
Labor
Effort and Teamwork, support Warehouse as a whole when needed.
Operate stand-up or sit-down forklift to unload/load freight into trailers
Use of RFID technology to scan freight in or out of the facility and put away or pick from designated barcode locations.
Operations and Quality
Oversee the processes in the area of responsibility, following operational standards (OPS) and KPI expectations
Improve safety, quality, delivery and cost through continuous improvement methods.
Adhere to compliance in the facility and governmental policies at all times.
Skills/Experience
Expertise in warehouse management system used in facility & supporting technology
Solid written and verbal communication skills
GDP (Goods Distribution Practice) Trained
Qualifications
A. Education- high school degree.
B.Experience
- 3 Years warehouse agent
- Completion of Hazardous Materials course
C.Knowledge/ Skills: Must be able to read, count accurately, do simple math (add, subtract, divide, multiply) and write legibly. Must be capable of standing and walking for extended periods.
Must be able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis. Must be able to use proper lifting techniques. The ability to follow directions with emphasis on safety is extremely important. Must be able to handle stress caused in meeting deadlines with tight scheduling requirements. Must be able to shift priorities easily. Must be able to use hands and feet simultaneously and for repetitive movements.
D. Special Requirements: Must have excellent work habits. Must pass a background check,
if applicable in state, region or geography. Must be familiar with warehouse systems.
Fork-lift certification may be required within 6 months of employment.
