Job Description
Labor Management: Oversees the planning of staffing levels of distribution office personnel and warehouse personnel. Supervisory / management responsibilities for distribution office and warehouse personnel. Periodically evaluate employees and complete performance evaluations for employees. Interviews & participates in hiring of distribution/warehouse personnel
Operations: Reviews records/reports for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures. Reviews records/reports to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies. Determines budget and accounting for department. Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow. Issues written and oral instructions. Participate in Distribution services rate quoting process Pro-actively checking and monitoring financial reports and always looking for productivity gains in processes. Need to have the right communication and management skills to deal with 3PL personnel.
Floor: Works with receiving, put away, picking, shipping and inventory control.
Quality: Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures
Customer Service: Continually maintain a professional and courteous relationship with all customers. Focus on customer service, sales and retention. Conduct Quality Management Reviews (QMRs) and retention calls with customers and vendors. Need to have the ability to prepare presentations for customers.
Qualifications
A. Education (preferred level) college degree .
B. Experience (minimum level of direct experience in a similar position) 4 years.
C. Knowledge/ Skills: Requires good supervisory and communication skills. Familiarity with personal computers and material handling equipment is essential. Strong decision-making and coaching skills. Able to drive results.
