We are currently seeking a skilled Backend Engineer (Video) to join our Video team. Reporting to the Video Operations department lead, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth server-side operations. Your responsibilities will include writing high-quality code, developing tools, creating application tests, and more. We are looking for someone with strong knowledge of IT systems and network infrastructure who thrives in a collaborative team environment and is eager to learn new technologies.

You will need to: 

• Develop internal hardware management tools, distributed systems, and other server-side applications. 
• Create and maintain system specification documentation. 
• Follow DevOps practices. 
• Stay updated with the latest languages and technologies. 
• Design and implement server features to support video functionality and releases. 
• Follow and enhance workflow and coding guidelines established by the team. 
• Translate business requirements into technical and functional designs. 
• Diagnose and resolve system issues. 

To succeed in this role you should have: 

• Fluency in Erlang or Elixir. 
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in the IT field or equivalent education. 
• Knowledge of network infrastructure. 
• Experience with development for Linux environment. 
• Strong understanding of IT systems. 
• Excellent written and spoken English. 
• Capable of thriving in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment without compromising accuracy and attention to detail. 
• Willingness and motivation to learn fast. 
• Ability to work effectively in a team of 30+ members. 
• Able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a distributed team. 

Enhancing qualifications: 

• Experience in video delivery and broadcasting. 
• Knowledge of CI/CD.
