This position will support an Analytical Development client team that is responsible for the characterization of oligonucleotide and mRNA lipid nanoparticle (LNP) products. The successful candidate will design and execute molecular biology and cell-based assays, analyze data, troubleshoot technical challenges, and contribute to method development, qualification, validation, and transfer. This role requires a collaborative, detail-oriented scientist who can work with increasing independence, adapt to changing priorities, and maintain high standards for scientific quality, documentation, and laboratory safety.

• Design, develop, optimize, and execute molecular biology and cell-based assays supporting oligonucleotide and mRNA-LNP analytical characterization.
• Plan and conduct experiments with minimal supervision, including sample preparation, data analysis, interpretation, and reporting.
• Contribute to analytical method development, qualification, validation, transfer, and routine execution.
• Troubleshoot technical challenges and improve assay performance, laboratory workflows, data quality, and operational efficiency.
• Translate broadly defined assignments into clear experimental objectives, timelines, and deliverables while adapting to changing priorities.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic laboratory records.
• Author or review protocols, SOPs, technical reports, method documentation, and regulatory submission content, as appropriate.
• Communicate results, conclusions, technical risks, and recommendations through reports, presentations, and team discussions.
• Collaborate with laboratory colleagues, cross-functional teams, and internal or external partners while promoting knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
• Support laboratory operations, including equipment readiness, reagent and inventory management, and compliance with GDP, GLP, quality systems, safety requirements, and established procedures.
• Evaluate scientific literature, emerging technologies, and new analytical approaches to strengthen analytical capabilities and address evolving research and development needs.

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

• B.S. in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Bioengineering, Biochemistry or related field with 3+ years of relevant industry experience or M.S. in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Bioengineering, Biochemistry or related field with 1+ years of relevant industry experience.   
• Hands-on laboratory experience with pipetting, liquid handling, sample preparation, and safe handling of biological and chemical materials.
• Hands-on experience developing, optimizing, and executing nucleic acid assays, including qPCR, RT-qPCR, dPCR, and/or ddPCR, including primer and probe design.
• Proficient in immunoassay-based analyses such as ELISA or MSD.
• Experience planning and conducting experiments, analyzing and interpreting data, troubleshooting technical challenges, and preparing technical documentation.
• Working knowledge of laboratory quality requirements, Good Documentation Practices (GDP), and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and applicable data-analysis tools.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without current or future sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with analytical characterization of oligonucleotides and/or mRNA-LNP
• Experience with analytical method transfer, assay qualification, or validation involving internal or external partners.
• Familiarity with statistical analysis tools, assay performance evaluation, and data interpretation.

Position is Full Time, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Boston, MA are encouraged to apply.
