Job Description
The Sample Reception and Logistics Technician perform a dual-role position combining environmental field sampling with laboratory logistics and coordination duties. This role supports Logistics Team through professional sample collection and Sample Reception team by ensuring timely dispatch of samples to external labs while managing sampling kits and ordering of goods.
Job responsibilities:
Field Sampling Duties:
✓ Collect environmental samples from various customer locations as planned by the logistics team lead.
✓ Follow approved sampling procedures and safety guidelines at all times.
✓ Properly label, store, and transport samples under required temperature-controlled conditions.
✓ Maintain sampling equipment and field kits in clean and operational condition. ✓ Operate and maintain company vehicles responsibly and in compliance with road safety regulations.
✓ Report site issues, hazards, delays, or incidents promptly.
✓ Represent the company professionally during client site visits.
✓ Manage Logistics Mailbox and Scheduling in the absence of Team Lead.
Laboratory Sample Reception Duties
Site Location: Eurofins Environment Testing, Little Island site
✓ Send samples for subcontract laboratory testing via DHL, each day, ensuring correct packaging, preservation, and documentation.
✓ Coordinate dispatch and shipment of samples to external subcontract laboratories with lab team.
✓ Prepare and dispatch sampling kits as per the requests from internal and external customers while managing good traceability through record keeping.
✓ Place purchase orders for laboratory consumables, sampling materials, and operational supplies.
✓ Receive delivered goods and verify orders against documentation.
✓ Maintain organised records of shipments, orders, and laboratory logistics documentation.
✓ Communicate effectively with laboratory teams, couriers, suppliers, and subcontract partners.
✓ Manage procurement for the business.
