Job Description
Position Summary:
Responsible for leading a regional cluster of laboratory sites and business units, including existing laboratories and newly created modular laboratories. This role provides strategic and operational leadership to Site Leaders and Business Unit Managers, with accountability for sales, business development, cost control, operational execution, talent selection and development, and overall financial performance across multiple laboratory locations in a designated region. The Regional Business Unit Cluster Manager hires, guides, mentors, and develops new and existing leaders while helping drive new business opportunities, customer growth, and successful implementation of expansion initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates and promotes the company vision
- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Responsible for the supervision, organization and coordination of all technical activities of personnel within the principles of sound scientific endeavors and business economy
- Responsible for the professional development and mentoring of Business Unit Managers
- Hire, onboard, guide, mentor, and develop Site Leaders and Business Unit Managers for existing laboratories and newly created modular laboratories
- Partner with regional and senior leadership to identify leadership needs, build strong management teams, and support succession planning across the cluster
- Provide the necessary planning, organization, and control to meet the goals of the laboratory and cluster
- Ensure that all pertinent company health, safety and environmental programs are adhered to and documentation is maintained
- Establish and maintain professional business relationships with clients, industry officials and peers
- Maintain influential position in establishing expansion plans for future laboratory locations
- Lead and support the planning, staffing, launch, and integration of newly created modular laboratories to ensure operational readiness, customer alignment, and financial performance
- Serve as a member of the ERML leadership team and provide input toward the strategic growth and development of the company
- Responsible for the overall success of multiple laboratories which includes, but not limited to: budgeting, decisions on capital expenses, managing senior staff, attending to major client needs, revenue & profit growth, and cost control
- Represent the company at technical meetings and conferences
- Participate with the Sales/Marketing Team in the preparation and quotation of comprehensive technical studies or requests for proposals (RFPs)
- Help drive new business growth by collaborating with commercial teams, identifying customer and market opportunities, supporting proposals, and ensuring laboratory capabilities align with regional growth objectives
- Propose major investments to company executives
- Ensure laboratories’ expenses are on track with annual budget
- Approve major capital expenses
- Empower Business Unit Managers to control costs of their laboratories within the established company guidelines along with analyzing monthly laboratory KPIs
- Verify that company employment policies are followed correctly
- Perform annual performance reviews for direct reporting personnel
- Handle employee relations issues per company guidelines and with the support of Human Resources
- Coordinate the interaction between different laboratory departments, across different business units and divisions of Eurofins to ensure customer expectations are met in the most efficient and cost effective manner.
- Understand and follow procedures relevant to employment responsibilities
- Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner

Qualifications
Basic Minimum Qualifications (BMQ):
- Ability to organize and lead laboratory personnel in a manner that reflects legal entity goals and objectives and schedule workflow to optimize laboratory productivity and client satisfaction in a cost-effective manner
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Deep understanding of microbiology markets, technologies, and customer workflows.
- Proven track record of delivering sustained revenue growth in target markets
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate scientific and market insights into competitive advantage.
- Strong executive presence, communication skills, and ability to influence across technical and commercial teams.
- Ability to think critically and problem solve
Education/Experience (BMQ):
BS in Science, Business or related field
Additional preferences:
MS or PhD in Science, Business or related field

Supervisory Responsibility:
- 5-7 years of applicable and progressively expanded laboratory experience with at least 5 years of supervisory experience
- Must be able to organize and lead professional personnel in a manner that reflects corporate goals and objectives
- Must be able to schedule workflow so as to optimize laboratory productivity and client satisfaction in a cost effective manner
Ability and/or Skills (BMQ):
Fluent in English is required

Experience in laboratory procedures, data analysis, computer operations, mathematics, and technical/business writing.
