Job Description

We are seeking a Senior IT Professional to join our F&A IT Solutions team in a dual-capacity role. You will serve as the primary Quality Assurance & Testing Engineer for our IBM-based financial suite (Cognos Controller, Planning Analytics, and Cognos Analytics) while simultaneously acting as the designated back-up for the Architect & Technical Manager.

This is a high-accountability position requiring a blend of technical expertise, strategic oversight, and leadership to ensure the stability and evolution of our global financial consolidation and reporting systems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Assurance & Testing Leadership

  • End-to-End Strategy: Define and execute the QA roadmap for the Cognos program, ensuring all data integration and UI enhancements meet rigorous financial accuracy standards.
  • Testing Execution: Lead UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and regression testing cycles for complex TM1 models and reporting dashboards.
  • Standardisation: Establish testing protocols for the development team (5 FTEs) to ensure "Quality by Design" across all application layers.

2. Architectural Governance (Back-up Lead)

  • Technical Continuity: Maintain a deep understanding of the system architecture to provide seamless coverage for the Senior Architect & Technical Manager.
  • System Design: Assist in designing scalable solutions for Data Integration and Application architecture.
  • Mentorship: Act as a technical escalation point and mentor for Top Graduates and Junior Developers to foster a culture of technical excellence.

3. Operational Excellence & Leadership

  • Ownership: Take full accountability for the technical integrity of releases.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with the Business Sponsor and Program Manager to align technical delivery with financial reporting timelines.
  • Reliability: Ensure the 24/7 stability of the related architecture in coordination with the Support Manager and Team Administrator.

Qualifications

  • Expertise in IBM Finance Stack: Extensive experience with IBM Cognos ControllerIBM Planning Analytics (TM1), and IBM Cognos Analytics.
  • Senior Technical Background: Proven track record as a Technical Lead or Architect in a Financial Systems (F&A) environment.
  • QA Mastery: Deep knowledge of software testing life cycles (STLC) and experience with automated testing tools.
  • Leadership Traits: Demonstrated ability to lead without formal authority, showing high levels of reliability and proactive ownership.
  • Communication: Fluent English; ability to translate complex technical architectural concepts into business-friendly language.
