Job Description
Responsibilities
- Receive, log, and label incoming samples according to established procedures
- Prepare samples for analysis, including weighing, grinding, splitting, or dissolving materials
- Safely handle chemicals, reagents, and bulk materials
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sample prep area
- Operate laboratory equipment such as balances, mills, ovens, etc
- Follow all SOPs, QA/QC requirements, and chain‑of‑custody documentation
- Communicate effectively with lab analysts, supervisors, and couriers
- Assist with inventory management of supplies and chemicals
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, including PPE use and proper chemical handling
- Carry out basic laboratory tests such as water activity, weight, moisture, and physicals-testing methods.
- Perform general housekeeping of work area in alignment with 5S standards, and performing other duties as assigned.
- Apply the highest quality standard in all areas of responsibility; maintain ISO 17025 quality standards and accreditation for the laboratory.
- Demonstrate strong client service skills
Qualifications
- Relevant laboratory experience, preferred
- Degree in chemistry or related scientific discipline, preferred but not required
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in a science field, preferred
- Experience working within an established quality system (ISO 17025 preferred)
- Understanding of production laboratory operations
- Detailed-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills along with demonstrated ability to collaborate with others.
- Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures
- Familiarity with LIMS or other sample‑tracking systems
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Ability to lift, move, and carry up to 70 pounds of materials, including chemical containers and sample batches
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
Additional Information
- The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m..
- May be requested to work on weekends, overtime, and holidays based on business needs.
