Job Description
The HPLC Technician will support routine analytical testing within an Analytical Sciences organization as part of the Eurofins PSS team. This role focuses heavily on executing HPLC and UPLC-based assays at a client site using client instruments, methods, and SOPs. Daily task assignment and performance management are provided by a Eurofins PSS supervisor, with technical guidance and data review performed by onsite client scientists.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute routine HPLC/UPLC analytical assays to support release, stability, and characterization testing following established procedures.
- Perform chromatography-based test methods with strong accuracy, documentation, and adherence to data integrity and compliance standards.
- Support basic troubleshooting of HPLC instrumentation, chromatography methods, and assay performance.
- Receive, label, and track samples, reference standards, critical reagents, and lab materials per workflow requirements.
- Communicate observations about method performance, chromatographic behavior, and instrument issues to scientists.
- Cross-train in complementary analytical techniques (e.g., CE, UV/Vis, compendial methods) as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized lab environment and perform routine instrument upkeep.
- Work in full compliance with cGMP/GLP, quality, and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or a related scientific discipline.
- 0–2 years of hands-on laboratory experience (academic, internship, co-op, or industry).
- Direct experience or exposure to HPLC/UPLC systems (e.g., Waters, Agilent) is highly desirable.
- Experience with related analytical techniques such as CE, UV/Vis, osmolality, pH, or other compendial methods is a plus.
- Familiarity with laboratory informatics systems (Empower, LIMS, ELN) preferred.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent documentation practices.
- Ability to follow written protocols, manage multiple tasks, and work within regulated environments.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
Additional Information
The position is Full Time, Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm, with overtime as needed. Candidates living within a commutable distance of Cambridge, MA, are encouraged to apply.
