Job Description

The Principal Analyst serves as the senior business analysis expert, responsible for leading strategic analysis, end‑to‑end solution definition, and cross‑functional alignment across major system and process initiatives. This position reports directly to the Director, IT Solutions, and collaborates extensively with business stakeholders, global application teams, IT Infrastructure Support Crews, and security.  

The role combines enterprise‑level analysis, innovative solution exploration, and overarching architectural alignment to ensure that technology decisions support long‑term business strategy. The Principal Analyst partners closely with the Solution Architect to shape solution direction, identify improvement opportunities, and drive modernization and optimization efforts across Eurofins systems and processes. This position also provides leadership within the business analysis discipline, mentoring analysts and contributing to best‑practice standards. 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Lead strategic, cross-functional analysis to define future state system capabilities, process improvements, and solution direction. 

  • Conduct enterprise level gap analyses to assess differences between current system capabilities and evolving business needs, producing clear recommendations and solution options. 

  • Collaborate directly with senior leadership to translate strategic objectives into actionable initiatives, roadmaps, and scope definitions. 

  • Develop high level requirements, conceptual designs, process models, value streams, and business capability assessments. 

  • Work closely with global application teams, ITISC infrastructure, and security to ensure alignment with standards, policies, and best practices. 

  • Evaluate and recommend opportunities for innovation, automation, modernization, and process simplification across applications and workflows. 

  • Review business requirements, functional specifications, and solution proposals to ensure clarity, completeness, and architectural alignment. 

  • Support project scoping, estimation, and planning activities by providing expert analysis of impacts, dependencies, and feasibility. 

  • Mentor and guide Business Analysts, promoting best practices in requirements gathering, process modeling, and stakeholder engagement. 

  • Partner with project owners and leadership to refine scope, define milestones, and ensure successful execution of high complexity initiatives. 

  • Assist with change management planning, ensuring stakeholders understand system impacts, benefits, and transition requirements. 

  • Promote continuous improvement across systems, processes, and documentation standards, contributing to organizational excellence. 

  • Drive process improvement initiatives, including simplification, automation, and valuestream optimization across labs and business units. 

Qualifications

* This position must be filled from within the Eurofins US Food & Feed Organization, and requires the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in a related field.

  • Minimum 8 years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a senior/lead analyst role. 

  • Demonstrated ability to work with technical teams, including architects, developers, infrastructure, and security. 

  • Experience with EURIS and laboratory systems or scientific environments is preferred but not required. 

  • Strong analytical and advanced problem-solving abilities. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of attention to detail. 

  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently, demonstrating leadership, initiative, and adaptability. 

  • Skilled at facilitating discussions, driving consensus, and aligning diverse stakeholder groups. 

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow established procedures. 

  • Ability to translate complex ideas into clear, actionable narratives for both technical and non-technical audiences. 

  • Effective at presenting concepts and securing buy-in from cross-functional teams and leadership. 

  • Experience supporting change management initiatives. 

  • Strong knowledge of business process modeling, requirements analysis, and enterprise analysis methodologies. 

  • Understanding of system architecture, integrations, data flows, and technical constraints. 

  • Familiarity with cloud environments, infrastructure concepts, cybersecurity considerations, and IT standards. 

  • Experience with software development lifecycle and Agile project delivery. 

  • Proficiency with workflow diagrams, modeling tools, and requirements documentation platforms.
