Job Description
To strengthen our leadership team, we are seeking an experienced and inspirational Business Unit Manager Microbiology (100% – Schönenwerd) who will play a key role in driving the continued growth of our business in Switzerland.
In this key leadership role, you will take full strategic and operational ownership of the Microbiology Business Unit and drive growth, quality, and innovation.
Your responsibilities include:
- Strategic and operational leadership of an established microbiology team
- Ensuring GMP‑compliant laboratory operations and continuous process improvements
- Full responsibility for budget, revenue, profitability, and capacity planning
- Further development of the service portfolio and active contribution to business expansion
- Close collaboration with QA, Operations, Sales, and Eurofins’ international network
- Coaching, motivating, and developing your team members
- Representation of the Business Unit towards customers, partners, and authorities
Qualifications
You are a great match if you bring:
- A university degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a related field
- Several years of leadership experience in a GMP‑regulated laboratory environment
- Solid understanding of microbiological methods (e.g., bioburden, environmental monitoring, utility testing (clean water, gas), endotoxin testing, media fills)
- Strong business mindset; experience with P&L responsibility is a plus
- Excellent communication and people‑leadership skills
- Strong customer focus and ability to effectively prioritise in a dynamic environment
- Very good command of English and German
