Eurofins Environment Testing Australia is an Environmental testing network of fully accredited laboratories. With a staff of over 300 our laboratories are located in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane and with Client Service Offices located in Adelaide, Darwin, Newcastle and Wollongong. We also operate field sampling services out of Melbourne and Sydney. We specialise in all areas of Environmental analysis, including Contaminated Soil, Sludge, Sediments, Leachate, Soil Vapour, Trade Waste Effluents, Sewage Effluents, Stack Emissions, Work Place Air, Ambient Air, Dust, Drinking Water, Surface Water run off, River & Stream Monitoring, Seawater, and Groundwater.
Job Description
Location: Dandenong South, VIC
Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Employment Type: Full-Time
Reporting to the Supervisor, the Field Technician will be responsible for scheduling and managing onsite visits for landfill gas sampling, operating handheld instrumentation, and ensuring accurate data handling and reporting. The role will work directly with clients to provide updates, manage consumables, and ensure safety and quality standards are met during field operations.
- Scheduling & Coordination: Planning and scheduling field visits for landfill gas sampling, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of services to clients and compliance with project timelines.
- Client Communication: Serving as the primary point of contact for clients during field operations, providing regular updates and addressing any on-site issues or concerns.
- Sampling Operations: Operating handheld instrumentation to collect landfill gas samples, ensuring accurate measurement, proper calibration, and compliance with safety and industry standards.
- Consumables Management: Tracking and managing sampling equipment and consumables, ensuring adequate inventory for ongoing projects and proper maintenance of equipment.
- Data Handling & Reporting: Collecting, recording, and analysing field data, ensuring proper documentation and accurate reporting to clients and internal teams.
- Field Safety: Adhering to all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to maintain a safe working environment on-site.
- Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving any equipment or sampling issues in the field, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines.
- Quality Assurance: Ensuring that all sampling processes and equipment meet company standards and regulatory requirements for accuracy and reliability.
- Career Development: Participating in training programs and development opportunities to enhance your technical skills, leadership abilities, and career progression within our expanding field team.
- Undertake other duties as directed by management from time to time.
- Act in accordance with the Eurofins Code of Ethics, and all other relevant policies and procedures, as updated from time to time.
Qualifications
Diploma or Degree in Science, Environmental Science, or a related field is preferred, but not essential. Relevant experience in field sampling or environmental monitoring will be highly regarded.
