Job Description
The Role:
To coordinate and actively support delivery of the Chem-MAP programme, by assuming responsibility for the timely completion of all activities relating to client contracts. This includes but is not limited to, the assessment of risk in chemical formulations, materials, and consumer product, overseeing COSHH assessments and MRSL testing through the laboratory, augmenting audit reports and the overall coordination of the project timelines.
Main Duties:
- To work alongside and assist the Chem-MAP Programme Manager
- Undertake all administration in relation to Chem-MAP including but not limited to, raising invoices, logging samples received, postage etc.
- Support the Booking-In function for receiving and receipting samples for testing in the laboratory when required.
- Undertaking risk assessments and completing Chem-MAP Capacity Building Tools for customers.
- Supporting with technical elements of the Chem-MAP programme.
- Liaising with the testing department and support with COSHH and accompanying functions.
- Assisting with the setting up and writing of reports and creating and issuing engagement letters/certificates to clients.
- Template management for technical reports.
- Maintaining and logging data for project management purposes and managing the ZDHC Gateway.
- General office administration for all functions within the Expert Services and Sustainable Chemistry teams, including but not limited to, contract reports, standard operating procedures, creating electronic forms, filing and any other administration as required.
- Supporting with writing articles and copy to support the marketing strategy.
- Using our CRM to log commercial opportunities.
- Special consulting projects relating to chemistry on a case-by-case basis.
- Support in the development of new products and services within the Sustainable Chemistry family (for example, tools, audits, etc.).
Qualifications
What We Are Looking For:
- Degree educated in chemistry, biochemistry, or relevant subject area and proven experience in leather or textile supply chains and/or chemical industry (desirable).
- A proven successful track record in project management (desirable).
- A driven, enthusiastic, and confident individual with outstanding communication skills.
- Be able to demonstrate good organisational skills and rigorous attention to detail.
- Demonstrates a self-motivated, positive “can do” attitude, and ability to work to tight deadlines and competing demands in a busy commercial environment.
- Demonstrate initiative and ability to multi-task and plan work effectively and work on their own when required.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form.
- Computer literate and confident using Microsoft Office and ideally have experience with data management systems such as CRM’s.
- A flexible approach to working additional hours when required
