Job Description
Turn Your Expertise into Impact – Join Our Forensic Software Team
We are looking for a curious, tech-savvy Application Specialist to become part of our forensic software team. In this role, you will support customers and internal teams by providing expert guidance on our specialised software solutions used in forensic laboratories, DNA analysis, and kinship testing. You will be the trusted point of contact for troubleshooting, training, documentation, and user support — helping forensic experts solve real-world cases more efficiently.
Where You’ll Work and Who You’ll Support?
You will be based in Dresden, supporting forensic software customers across Europe. Collaboration is at the heart of this role - you will work closely with our development, product, and support teams to ensure seamless software performance and an outstanding user experience.
Your Impact
As an Application Specialist, you will combine technical expertise with customer engagement to make a real difference:
Customer Support & Troubleshooting
You will be the first point of contact for software-related queries, diagnosing issues and guiding users towards effective solutions to ensure smooth and reliable software usage in critical forensic workflows.
Training & Documentation
You will design and deliver engaging training sessions and webinars, create clear and user-friendly guides, and simplify complex features for non-technical audiences.
Project & Product Collaboration
You will contribute your domain expertise to product development, assist in gathering requirements, and share creative input to enhance functionality and user experience.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
We are seeking a motivated individual with a degree or vocational training in biology, biotechnology, chemistry, or a closely related scientific discipline. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative projects and collaborate with a dynamic team in a forward-thinking environment.
LANGUAGES
Excellent communication skills in both German and English are required, as the position involves interaction across departments and occasional travels.
EXPERIENCE
While prior professional experience is appreciated, it is not essential. We value fresh perspectives, creativity, and enthusiasm. Familiarity with software tools or digital platforms will be considered an advantage, as we aim to integrate modern technologies into our processes.
SOFT SKILLS
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills and the ability to understand complex scientific concepts. A solution-oriented mindset and proactive approach to challenges are essential, alongside a genuine passion for software and digital tools. A collaborative attitude and comfort working within a team are key to success in this role.
If you are eager to develop your expertise in a stimulating environment and contribute to meaningful projects, we would love to hear from you.
