This is a home based role will regular travel required across the UK to our Eurofins sites.

Working hours are Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm.

This role is responsible for adherence to the quality systems and the requirement of all accreditation statuses for the relevant laboratories. You will inspire and drive a culture of outstanding quality to exceed the requirements of our customers and embrace our core organisational values.

• Responsible for the maintenance of UKAS accreditation (and other accreditations where appropriate) in Eurofins UK Food Chemistry laboratories. Ensure that the requirements of UKAS, business and customers are met within the scope of the accredited laboratory
• Act as a key contact for UKAS on all matters of accreditation relating to water testing
• To attend external audits by UKAS, other regulatory bodies and customers and to ensure that corrective actions are completed and submitted to the relevant body within the timescale required.
• Ensure that the Quality procedures and documents, including laboratory methods are maintained up to date.
• Work closely with the Group Food Chemistry Technical Development Manager.
• Responsible for the annual Quality Management Reviews in the relevant sections
• Train laboratory staff in ISO: 17025, auditing, non-conforming work investigations and root cause analysis, where applicable
• Assist the Director of Technical and Quality in developing and driving Quality improvement plans across laboratories to ensure consistent approach and best practice
• Assess data and trends as required to instigate improvements through development of Quality KPI dashboards 
• Delivery of continuous improvement in laboratory processes, customer service, Quality, health and safety.
• Assess key operational risks and take action to mitigate them
• Build relationships with laboratory staff; engage laboratory staff in the purpose, their responsibilities and use of the Quality system.
• Attendance at Monthly Quality KPI Meetings for each site. 
• Development of internal Quality Control schemes to meet the needs of the business.
• Management of the local Quality teams.
• Work closely with the Group Quality Managers of other departments to ensure that all aspects of the Quality system are maintained

• Educated to degree level in Chemistry /Microbiology or related discipline and relevant experience of Quality Management systems
• Excellent working knowledge of Microbiology / Chemistry  laboratories accredited to ISO: 17025, RSA where applicable
• Proven experience of working in a UKAS accredited laboratory
• Proven experience of people-management
• Computer literate
• Excellent analytical skills
• Good auditing skills
• Must have a ‘can do’ attitude and be able to deliver change through people management skills
