Job Description

  • Maintaining laboratory supplies, reagents inventory, and preparation of media
  • Safe handling and movement of compressed gases and/or cryogenic liquids. 
  • Cleaning and monitoring of controlled temperature units, fume hoods, and biological safety cabinets (BSC)
  • Use of electronic management and tracking system for monitoring routine maintenance and calibration status of laboratory equipment.
  • Management of paper lab notebook and logbook requests, updates, and reconciliation
  • Assists in coordination and execution of reoccurring equipment maintenance and calibrations. 
  • Participates in the overtime and weekend schedule as required.
  • Cleaning, organization, and labeling of lab spaces in accordance with effective procedures.
  • Complete all safety and procedural trainings and re-trainings.
  • Complete tasks listed above in laboratory areas that handle potent chemical compounds.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree (AS) in Life Sciences or equivalent.
  • A strong work ethic and ability to meet physical demands including, but not limited to, routinely lifting objects of 25 lbs. or more, walking and standing for extended periods of time, pushing or pulling carts and equipment and bending down or reaching for supplies. 
  • Knowledge of cGMP is a plus.
  • Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to learn new processes, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

Additional Information

The position is full-time, this role is 1st Sun-Thurs 8 am-4 pmCandidates living within a commutable distance of Rensselaer, NY are encouraged to apply. Compensation is $19.50-21.00 per hour based on experience.
