Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a (Senior) Financial Controller to join the team at Eurofins National Service Centre in Dungarvan Co Waterford. We are looking for a strong all round Financial Controller who has experience of both monthly Management Accounts and year-end Financial Statements to join the financial controlling team.

The Financial Controller will assist with the accounting function for multiple legal entities. They will be involved in the optimisation of the Finance function to ensure best practice in reporting systems, internal control framework and IT systems. Project work will form a significant portion of the role so the ability to grasp complex topics quickly is a must.

Main Duties : 

  • Month end routines and procedures. The successful candidate will have responsibility for the accounts of a number of legal entities including:
    • Balance Sheet Reconciliations
    • Review and validation of results prepared by Shared Services Centre
    • Recodes and corrections as required.
    • Conducting Review of accounts with Business Unit Leaders
  • Assisting with and supporting the annual external audit
  • Financial analysis and KPI delivery
  • Cashflow Forecasting & Treasury support
  • Assisting with accounting systems development
  • Continuous review and improvement of processes
  • Ensuring compliance with Group accounting principles and policies
  • Other tasks / duties that may be required in order to perform the role and support the finance function.
  • Supporting the business on financial matters as needed.
  • Ad hoc reporting and investigations.

Qualifications

  • A relevant third level degree
  • Qualified or part qualified accountant working towards a recognised accounting qualification
  • A strong self-starter who is prepared to lead agenda’s directly with General Managers and senior team members.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to convert data into analysis / information which enables users to understand business performance and make informed decisions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain what the numbers are saying
  • Solid knowledge of finance policies, processes and finance systems
  • Organised with the ability to prioritise and deliver to agreed deadline.
  • Diligent, hard-working, takes ownership of tasks
  • Organised, accurate, with good productivity and attention to detail
  • Must be highly motivated with the ability to work under pressure in a dynamic and fast moving environment
  • Strong IT skills / Excel
