Job Description

The Shipping & Receiving Technician maintains an organized supply and inventory control system for the use and distribution of supplies and sampling equipment for the Products department. Ships and receives a variety of parts and materials from vendors and clients. Performs daily maintenance activities and routine preventative maintenance on facility equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains inventory control system for Products department.
  • Receives and distributes incoming supplies to appropriate departments at Phx location.
  • Packs and ships sales orders to clients.
  • Orders packing supplies and resale inventory.
  • Packs orders for local client pick-ups.
  • Maintains a clean and safe warehouse environment.
  • Performs daily maintenance activities.
  • Performs routine preventative maintenance throughout warehouse.

Qualifications

Requirements

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Experience:

  • Previous shipping/receiving experience preferred but not required
  • Hazardous Shipping certificate

Knowledge

  • Shipping/receiving procedures, limitations
  • Inventory control

Skills

  • Computer skills; Outlook, Excel, Word
  • Communication skills
  • Organizational skills

Abilities

  • Handle multiple priorities
  • Work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to multitask

The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation:

  • Lifting and Carrying:

Lifting up to 50 pounds, carrying up to 30 pounds when loading/unloading

packages

  • Body Positions:

Standing (45% of time) when packing and shipping packages, walking (45% of

time) when gathering items for shipments, sitting (10% of time)

when placing orders and maintaining inventory control

  • Body Movements:

Climbing, kneeling, and reaching when retrieving and stocking supplies;

stooping, crouching, and reaching when shipping/receiving packages

  • Hand Use:

Packing boxes and coolers, stocking and retrieving supplies, computer keyboard

  • Hearing:

Conversational hearing ability

  • Vision:

Packing and unpacking boxes and coolers, viewing computer screen

  • Speaking:

Conversational speaking ability

Answer phone calls from internal and external clients

Environmental Conditions

Combination shipping/receiving environment and office environment.

Additional Information

The position is full-time, Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm with flexibility for overtime and weekend coverage.

Compensation Range: $15- $18 / hour 

Eurofins Environment Testing (USA) provides a compensation range for informational purposes, the actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience and skill set, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location.
