Job Description

Assist downstream processing scientists in the purification of hydridoma antibodies and in the development of commercial processes for vaccines and protein therapeutics for animal health.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Isolate/purify reagent proteins such as antibodies from hybridomas for use by the BDev analytical group according to established procedures.

· Isolate/purify/concentrate viral harvests for use as vaccine candidates.

· Run basic analytical methods, which may include HPLC, gel electrophoresis, and total protein analysis.

· Assist senior members of the DSP team with large-scale preps and routine processing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in disciplines of chemistry, biochemistry, or other related fields.
  • Laboratory experience with:
    • Protein purification
    • HPLC
    • Gel Electrophoresis 
    • Low pressure chromatography
    • Cross-flow filtration

Additional Information

Position is full-time, Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm.  Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Kalamazoo, MI are encouraged to apply.
