Job Description

Waste Disposal Technician responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Overall:
    • The Waste Disposal Technician is responsible for the proper disposal of process waste, unused laboratory samples, and spent chemicals used in the laboratory according to corporate, federal, state, and local guidelines. Responsible for safely transporting process waste and unused samples within the laboratory environment.
  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Responsible for identifying waste streams and maintaining satellite accumulation points for laboratory waste products
    • Empties satellite containers into bulk containers and takes back to laboratory for reuse
    • Responsible for disposing unused laboratory samples and process wastes according to the regulations
    • Maintains Ambient Sample storage and Disposal areas to keep it clutter-free and free of fire hazards
    • Ships hazardous waste from the laboratory prior to the environmental time limit for the facility
    • Tracks volume of waste generated and disposed for reporting to EHS Manager
    • Prepares and tracks implementation to minimize wastes
    • Provides assistance to other departments/areas as needed
  • Quality:
    • Has good workmanship, adherence to standard operational procedures, training, good documentation practices, and accurate recordkeeping so the company may meet its stated quality policy and objectives.

Qualifications

Basic Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Degree or higher
  • 2 years’ experience in environmental industry preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and documentation practices 
  • Good communication skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a chemical environment
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to lift, carry and move 25-50 lbs. regularly

Potential Environmental Factors:

  • This laboratory carefully maintains all hazardous materials.  All employees must abide by Eurofin’s Safety and Exposure procedures.  This includes using the provided safety clothing and equipment.

Additional Information

The position is full-time, Monday-Friday 8 am to 5 pm or 9 am to 6 pm with the possibility of overtime and weekends.  Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Pomona, CA are encouraged to apply.

The salary for this position is $18-20 / hour
