• Supervise and perform all aspects of Bacteriology & BFB sample processing including but not limited to, counting and homogenizing samples, washing/loading of samples and PCR, planting seed samples and seedling evaluations.
• Maintain and plan for an adequate inventory of supplies to process samples
• Develop and implement proficiency testing plans for the bacteriology department
• Incorporate improvements into protocols in accordance to QA & company goals
• Validate all changes to standard protocols and implement only with QA operations manager approvals
• Process samples according to established timelines
• Participate in comparative testing to develop new protocols or improve current ones
• Determine resource and labor requirements to meet Quality assurance goals
• Train new employees and co-workers on Bacteriology/BFB procedures to cover labor requirements
• Make sure that Bacteriology/BFB equipment is calibrated and up to date
• Record processing information
• Maintain customer confidentiality in accordance with EBDI policies
• Reports results to clients.
