Job Description

The Product Manager is responsible for product planning and marketing throughout the Product Lifecycle. Main responsibilities include gathering and prioritizing product and customer needs; defining product visions that are consistent with the company’s strategic goals; working closely with Project Management to develop new products; working with Sales and Marketing to launch products and perform post-release market surveillance to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Develop and maintain expert knowledge of the product market
2. Attend conventions, tradeshows, sales meetings and training programs
3. Develop relationships with key Opinion Leaders and Industry Experts
4. Identify competitor activities and develop strategies to address them
5. Identify market opportunities for existing as well as new products
6. Define the strategy and roadmap for existing as well as new products
7. Work closely with Project Management to deliver products that meet market needs
8. Develop the core positioning and messaging for specific products
9. Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities
10. Provide reports to management that may include business plans and sales forecasts for specific products
11. Develop and execute strategic launch plans for updates to existing products and new products
12. Coordinate the development of marketing tools and activities (e.g. brochures, training materials, slide decks, internet sites and other e-media, branding guidelines, posters, promotions, and stand-alone meetings)
13. Visit customer accounts and conduct well organized product presentations
14. Coordinate White Papers and studies pertaining to product behavior and performance

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor degree in Business or Life Sciences field and 4+ years experience in Product and/or Project Management required
  • Bachelor degree in Business or Life Sciences field and 2+ years experience as Product Manager preferred
  • Strong understanding of the Product Lifecycle required
  • Previous experience in the medical device or medical products industry required
  • Prior experience with diagnostics reagents or instrumentation required

Computer Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Proficient in PowerPoint or other presentation software
  • Must be willing and able to learn other software programs as needed

  10. Ability to clearly communicate technical information with customers and co-workers
  11. Ability to learn new & existing instrumentation and technology as needed
  12. Must be able and willing to adhere to corporation personnel policies and practices, including attendance and punctuality requirements
