Job Description

With more than 50 years’ experience in the crop protection industry, EAS offers a unique portfolio of expertise, providing extensive laboratory and field support across multiple industries including agrochemical, biopesticide, pharmaceutical, biocide, and fine chemical manufacturers.

Eurofins Agroscience Services is searching for a Field Station Leader to work in Lafayette, IN.

Field Station Leader responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Manages facility operations and staff; employee hiring, supervision, training and related documentation
  • Completes and delivers research trials assigned to the facility
  • May serve as a Study Director, Principal Field Investigator, Project Manager
  • Complete or manage study/trial activities according to protocol, GLP, SOP and Sponsor requirements.  May include protocol preparation, study set-up and conduct, electronic or paper field notebook entries, collection of raw data, Quality Assurance activities, reports and data submission
  • Maintain study data and facility records in organized manner
  • Assure accurate and complete collection of study data and report timely to Sponsors
  • Assure the maintenance and improvement of the field station facility, including building, systems and grounds.
  • Assure the Maintenance of facility research, office and IT equipment.
  • Assist in procurement of research and facility equipment
  • Collection and documentation of facility and study related expenses
  • Timely reporting of administrative and study related information to management and support operations
  • Use and training of sponsor e-notebooks and other data collection hardware/software
  • Participate in periodic GLP training
  • Attend continuing education training for professional development to improve expertise in pesticide handling, pest management, and test system refinement
  • Use of EASSM FTM, as required
  • Assure safe use and provide training of equipment, machinery and/or vehicles by facility personnel.
  • Take reasonable steps to ensure that any designated subordinates are aware of, and observe, appropriate health and safety precautions associated with the job holder’s normal activities
  • Travel will be required
  • Performs other related duties as required and directed.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate would possess:

  • Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field such as agronomy, plant pathology, or other directly related field or degree with comparable coursework in the above areas and a minimum of ten years of experience in a directly relevant setting.
  • In rare cases, comparable demonstrated competence and experience in the relevant area may be used to substitute in total or in part for the Bachelor's degree.
  • Five to ten years of experience in agricultural research development and project management, or related experience.
  • Good regulatory understanding of EPA requirements
  • Good understanding of the principles of GLP, and preferably, have experience as a Principal Investigator
  • Extensive knowledge of agricultural and related laboratory practices, plant life and development, and farming operations
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work outside standard business hours, according to team/business workloads
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Additional Information

Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, with overtime as needed.  Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Lafayette, IN are encouraged to apply.
