Job Description
Eurofins Test America is searching for a Quality Assurance Assistant (with Purchasing responsibilities) in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m., with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Cedar Falls, Iowa are encouraged to apply.
The Quality Assurance Assistant assists the Quality Assurance (QA) Manager during audits and client visits. Helps maintain reference data in LIlMS and performs spot audits internally at the request of the QA Manager. Performs customer service requests for Project Management staff, supplies SOP's, certification information, and method information. Works with the laboratory to maintain SOP's and other method performance documentation as directed by the QA Manager.
- Perform QA data audits to ensure laboratory is in compliance with policies and
- procedures
- Assist in scheduling of proficiency testing samples and other QC samples. Process
- and report QC samples as routine samples to appropriate agencies
- Issue controlled and uncontrolled documents to enforce current policies and SOP's
- Assist QA Manager in maintaining the laboratory’s reference data
- Prepare or post certification applications
- Assist in internal and external audits and client visits
- Ensure maintenance of training records for all employees
- Maintain methods capability list on MyEOL
- Maintain certifications list on MyEOL
- Assist in identification of systematic problems within laboratories
- Recommend resolutions for ongoing or recurring nonconformance
- Maintain historical indices of all technical records including SOPs, QC records,
- laboratory data, etcetc.
- Ensure maintenance of records archives
- Assist operations personnel in writing QA SOP’s
- Assist departments in generating MDL spreadsheets and calculations, reviewing MDL studies
- Answer questions on methods from laboratory personnel
- Subcontract laboratory information maintenance
- Laboratory surveillance to ensure equipment calibration
Additional Purchasing responsibilities
- Perform weekly inventory counts.
- Add or remove items within the stockroom as requested by lab staff.
- Monitor open backorders, request vendor updates, and find available alternates as needed.
- Use Coupa ordering system for weekly orders, CAPEX orders, PO submittals, etc and help train other lab staff on Coupa ordering system.
- Order non-stockroom items, and find alternatives if necessary, for the lab staff.
- Order miscellaneous office items as needed.
- Receive/unpack inventory supplies – requires some heavy lifting
- Perform regular reanalysis of ordering system and stockroom items to maintain optimal time management and be most cost effective.
- Communicate with employees, vendors or accounts payable team members to obtain invoices, solve invoice issues, and submit for payment.
- Supply company pricing for specified vendors/obtain quotes as requested by lab staff.
- Work with BUMa and vendors to submit new supplier requests.
- Work with Coupa Admin to add items into the coupa catalog, manage employee’s rights within Coupa, etc.
- Head mid-year and end of year inventory counts.
- Make sure reagent/solvent lots are on the approved list (if applicable), and set up testing if necessary.
- Keep track of inventory usage and supply usage numbers as requested.
- Manage packing slip file cabinets, archive when necessary, and create/organize folders for a new year.
- Provide order updates to lab staff as requested.
- Work with shipping and project management staff to arrange drop-shipments as needed.
- Manage lab coat ordering/cancellations.
- Places Aramark coffee orders.
Qualifications
Basic Minimum Qualifications:
