Job Description

This Payroll Officer position is an integral part of the dedicated payroll team for Eurofins in Australia and New Zealand. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the position will hold varied payroll processing and reporting responsibilities for several small to medium size legal entities across Australia and New Zealand. A key focus of this role will be to will support employees and management by ensuring accurate and reliable payroll, time and attendance management, record keeping, and leave planning.

Eurofins is a rapidly growing group of companies, and we are looking for candidates with the potential to grow into this position in line with our growth in the region, but already have quality payroll experience and are interested further enhancing our payroll practices.

The primary duties and responsibilites of the position include: 

  • Timely and accurate processing of end to end fortnightly payroll for multiple legal entities in Australia and New Zealand.
  • Supervise and manage time and attendance system.
  • Process all new starters, terminations and variations to employee’s terms and conditions in a timely manner.
  • Accurate calculation of back pays and long service leave entitlement.
  • Prepare, distribute and file payroll reports in an organized and timely manner.
  • Prepare accurate monthly and annual payroll tax calculation.
  • Prepare and complete monthly superannuation lodgment.
  • Process workers compensation payments and reconciliation.
  • Prepare and complete other regulatory requirements e.g. CSA.
  • Maintain systematic employee personnel files and all payroll records.
  • Support the Payroll Manager to monitor and improve the efficiency of the payroll system and procedures.
  • Communicate payroll changes and provide assistance to managers in all payroll aspects.
  • Liaise with local finance team (Accountants, AP, AR and Purchasing) and HR team.

Qualifications

As an important role within Eurofins, the following selection criteria is required:

  • 4+ years Australian payroll experience is essential.
  • Working knowledge with ADP Payforce is essential.
  • Working knowledge of EBA’s and various industry awards.
  • Exposure to New Zealand payroll is preferable.
  • Mitrefinch (Time and Attendance System) experience preferable.
  • Strong numeracy and financial skills.
  • Demonstrated high level of proficiency with MS office including Excel.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Hands on attitude and eager to learn with great attention to details.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Additional Information

Indicative gross annual salary $70,000 - $75,000 + Superannuation (11.5%)
