Job Description

The overall objective of this position is to:

  • Partner with the CIO and SVP business leaders to provide insight into Eurofins IT activities, appropriate resources allocation and cost visibility
  • Lead and manage the overall performance of Eurofins IT costs and activities
  • Lead, coach and develop the finance teams under his/her scope

ROLE & OBJECTIVES

  • Eurofins IT activities are multiple, complex and significant, with a total Group IT spend amounting to 5-6% of Group revenue. These activities include:
    • Development of significant in-house solutions that are directly linked to the core operations and performance of the Group
    • Deployment & maintenance of solutions across 1,300+ sites and 50,000+ employees
    • Set-up & maintenance of infrastructure across ca. 100 user zones and 100+ application groups
    • Profound transformation of services towards digitalization and decentralization
  • The Group IT CFO’s mission is to create a financial planning & analysis framework where all costs (whether incurred centrally, regionally or locally), are budgeted, monitored, accounted for and internally recharged with transparency and reliability along several analytical dimensions (chart of account, costs centers, programs, services, work packages) in order to provide key senior stakeholders with timely information to guide resource allocation decisions and performance management
  • As a new role in the organization, the Group IT CFO will build a team of 20+, leveraging existing resources such as Group IT controlling (4 people) and regional/local IT controllers
  • The key priorities for the role will be to:
    • Challenge business and IT leaders on their resource allocation decisions
    • Support strategic IT initiatives such as digitalization of our Laboratory Information Management Systems (‘LIMS’) and segregation of our infrastructure
    • Provide a robust financial framework to accompany the IT evolution, including a shift towards cloud solutions
    • Develop and monitor KPIs to assess the overall spend performance
    • Implement standard processes and templates across the Group
    • Ensure a compliant and reliable intercompany recharge framework
    • Target a progressive decrease of spend vs Group revenue
  • Day-to-day leadership and performance management of the teams, processes and activities, including the development of strong finance and support teams
  • Recruiting, developing and promoting talented leaders & managing succession planning
  • Budgeting, financial reporting, controlling (financials & headcounts) for Eurofins IT spend
  • Developing and implementing sourcing and standardization strategies, in liaison with Group Purchasing, in order to obtain significant purchasing savings

Qualifications

  • Masters’ degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering or Chemistry from a leading university; MBA would be a plus
  • Strong leader with proven track record in initiating / leading change, developing strong teams while achieving / exceeding ambitious targets in a sustainable manner
  • 12+ years of experience in operational finance roles with increasing level & scope of responsibility; previous experience related to IT controlling is considered a plus
  • People manager, able to lead and inspire large teams across multiple countries & geographies
  • Solid knowledge of finance policies, processes and finance systems; track record of improving financial processes
  • Strong track record of building strong internal and external business relationships
  • Strong ability to communicate vision, strategies, issues, and action plans to senior management
  • Track record of setting challenging goals and holding yourself and others on your team accountable to those goals in order to deliver results
  • Ability to manage and prioritise workload to ensure appropriate controls while driving forward strategic initiatives.
