Job Description
The Financial and Employment Planner – Eligibility is responsible for determining initial and ongoing eligibility for W-2 services and Job Access Loans (JALs). This role ensures timely access to benefits by verifying documentation, maintaining accurate case records, and conducting thorough eligibility reviews in accordance with program guidelines.
- Determine initial and continued eligibility for W-2 program services and Job Access Loans (JALs).
- Conduct eligibility interviews and verify required documentation including income, residency, and household composition.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records to support timely benefit issuance and service delivery.
- Monitor changes in participant circumstances and update eligibility status accordingly.
- Collaborate with case managers and program staff to ensure coordinated service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations governing W-2 and JAL eligibility.
- Respond to inquiries from participants regarding eligibility requirements and documentation.
- Participate in audits and quality assurance reviews to ensure program integrity.
- Uphold confidentiality and adhere to all applicable employment laws and program policies.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in eligibility determination, benefits administration, or related field.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and eligibility systems.
- Ability to interpret and apply complex program rules and regulations.
Preferred
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in human services, Public Administration, or related field.
- Experience with W-2 or other public assistance programs.
- Familiarity with Wisconsin Works (W-2) eligibility guidelines.
- Bilingual (Spanish or Hmong) a plus.
