Job Description

• Maintains a high degree of discipline within the classroom.
• Adequately prepares for classroom instruction.
• Ensures equipment is in good working condition.
• Identifies appropriate materials.
• Seeks input from industry advisors.
• Submits ESPs as scheduled in a timely fashion.
• Documents student progress on training Achievement Records (E-TAR), and for inclusion on ETA 640.
• Records daily attendance in CIS.
• Designs instruction to meet individual student needs.
• Maintains a grade of “A or B” in the CTT 10 report.
• Ensures the completion of at least 90% of CTT Primary Credentials of enrollees assigned.
• Maintains a 70% or more of students’ trade completion.
• Ensures the completion of CTST projects (when applicable) as scheduled.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Educational Requirements: Associate's degree in carpentry or a related field is mandatory; a bachelor's degree is strongly preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Certification: Candidates must be eligible for provisional teaching certification in the state where the Center is located.
  • Professional Accreditation: Possession of a state-specific or professional trade organization certification, license, or accreditation in carpentry is essential.
  • Communication Proficiency: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are required, including the ability to compose comprehensive reports, deliver clear presentations, and effectively address inquiries.
  • Mathematical Aptitude: Strong proficiency in mathematical concepts and problem-solving is crucial, with the ability to apply these skills to practical carpentry situations.
  • Licensure: A valid State Driver's License (Category 4) is mandatory.
  • Legal Requirement: Compliance with Law 300 is non-negotiable.
  • Adaptability: Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic, team-oriented environment and adapt to constant change is essential.
  • Instructional Creativity: The capacity to employ creativity and enthusiasm in motivating diverse age groups and adapting learning activities to meet both group and individual needs is critical.
  • Resource Management: Proven ability to identify and utilize resources to overcome potential barriers to successful program completion is necessary.
  • Personal Attributes: The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, highly flexible, and possess a strong aptitude for teamwork.
