Job Description

An exciting opportunity is available for an Allied Health Assistant to join the Physiotherapy team within the acute hospital setting at Epworth Richmond. We are offering a permanent part‑time role, working a 7.6‑hour shift every second Sunday

In this role, you will support the acute physiotherapy service by assisting with the care and treatment of patients on the orthopaedic and neurosurgical wards who are awaiting inpatient rehabilitation. Working closely with physiotherapists, you will undertake a variety of delegated tasks to promote patient wellbeing and safety, support therapy goals, and help prevent functional decline.

You will make an impact by:

  • Delivering a consistently high standard of patient care
  • Maintaining safe clinical practice at all times
  • Working in line with department priorities and clinical care guidelines
  • Participating in clinical handovers using the ISOBAR framework
  • Completing documentation and reporting in accordance with organisational standards

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Enjoy working collaboratively with patients and multidisciplinary team members
  • Have excellent administrative, time‑management and organisational skills
  • Show initiative and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

You will have:

  • Previous experience as an Allied Health Assistant or currently studying towards a physiotherapy qualification and eligibility to work in Australia 
  • Availability to work weekends

Qualifications

  • Completion of a Certificate IV Allied Health Assistance, and/or working towards a physiotherapy qualification
