Job Description

Exciting opportunities are available for both permanent full-time and part-time positions at Epworth HealthCare in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at various locations:

  • Epworth Freemasons in East Melbourne
  • Epworth Richmond
  • Epworth Eastern in Box Hill

You will make an impact by:

  • Providing an outstanding patient experience in the critical care environment
  • Delivering high standard of nursing care
  • Demonstrating empathy and compassion to patients, families and medical consultants
  • Evaluating and monitoring your patient’s progress
  • Identifying sudden or subtle changes in your patient’s medical condition
  • Creating and implementing effective care plans
  • Acting as the communication link between doctors, patients, and the patients' families.

You enjoy collaborating with team members and patients to create an exceptional patient experience. Focused on positive patient outcomes you are professional, compassionate and empathetic in your personal conduct. Holding confidence in your own abilities and a willingness to learn, you can work autonomously and show initiative to identify tested or innovative patient-centric solutions.

You will have:

  • Experience in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) mandatory for all Epworth locations
  • Experience in Coronary Care Unit (CCU) at Epworth Eastern is highly preferred
  • Current nursing registration with AHPRA
  • Postgraduate qualification in Critical Care Nursing required for all sites
  • Postgraduate qualification in Cardiac Care at Epworth Eastern is highly desirable
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic
  • Excels in high-pressure, skilled environments while maintaining composure and delivering exceptional outcomes under critical conditions
  • Solid understanding of health information structures and technology
  • Cardiothoracic experience highly desired (Epworth Eastern & Richmond site)
  • Availability to work a rotating roster including day and night shifts including on-call participation

Located in Box Hill, Epworth Eastern is a state-of-the-art facility and has 15 theatres and expansion of ICU to 12 beds. Epworth Eastern maintains a broad clinical focus from cardiac, vascular, orthopaedic, and general surgery to oncology, urology and endoscopy services. Our redeveloped site delivers a positive, meaningful, and sustainable impact on the health and well-being of our community, delivering much needed health care services and facilities in Melbourne’s east.

The annual salary range for full time Registered Nurses – AUD $82,236 - $103,280 + super + entitlements, depending on registration type, year level and position/experience (prorated for part-time).
