Job Description

In this full-time role, based in Pelaco Building, Richmond you will be responsible for the management and support of the on-premises data centers and infrastructure while lending support for our Azure, M365 and Microsoft Teams when required. This includes designing, installing, configuring, administering and optimizing the environments.

The Infrastructure Specialist will work closely with the IT Infrastructure Team Leader and other IT Specialists to ensure the hospital infrastructure, servers and environments are supported in alignment with strategic direction, industry best practice and security standards.

You will be part of the Infrastructure and Cloud team and report to Cloud Technology Services Manager

You will make an impact by:

  • Deployment of infrastructure technology and supporting systems: Ensure timely, efficient, and problem-free deployments with minimal to no interruption of end-user systems, adhering to the change management process.
  • Systems administration and support: Manage systems administration and support activities, including triaging and handling day-to-day infrastructure support jobs, routine maintenance, and ensuring IT security requirements are met.
  • Continuous Quality Improvement: Assist in the ongoing reliability, availability, and security of ICT systems, identifying areas for value-added process improvement and maintaining documentation.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, customers, and vendors, sharing knowledge and developing infrastructure expertise.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent, helpful service to patients, visitors, and staff, communicating clearly and resolving issues promptly as per the service level agreements (SLAs).

To be successful in this role:

You will show excellent communication skills, ability to listen, understand, and communicate solutions to non-technical staff, and document technical and practical information effectively. Be proactive and adaptable, able to work autonomously, multi-task, and handle tasks efficiently under pressure, with a high level of emotional maturity and personal integrity. As well as being proactive and self-motivated, and having a systematic approach to problem resolution.

You will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in an ICT or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Over 3 years of experience in managing VMware server infrastructure and SAN technologies.
  • Over 3 years of experience in a large, complex Microsoft environment, including managing Microsoft technology stacks such as DFS, DHCP/DNS, and Active Directory.
  • Over 3 years of experience working with HPE (Nimble) and Pure Storage.
