Job Description
Epworth Healthcare Richmond campus is a 550-bed acute hospital with close to 47,000 admissions per year. We have the largest private emergency department in Victoria (30-bed plus a dedicated fast-track area), a 26-bed Intensive Care Unit, 39-bed acute Cardiac Unit as well as other specialty units supported by more than 2,400 staff members and 1,200 accredited visiting specialists.
As a member of the Epworth Richmond HMO Team, you will liaise directly with treating specialists and other Epworth medical officers in the care of inpatients throughout the hospital. You will gain experience with orthopaedic, oncology, cardiac, neurology, general surgical and paediatric patients as well as the critical care patients in ICU and ED.
You will work twelve-hour shifts which include day (08:00 – 20:00hrs) and night (20:00 – 08:00hrs) shifts. The percentage of night shifts will be a minimum of 33.3% and a maximum of 50%.

You are an excellent communicator and a caring and respectful medical professional who is passionate about patient centred care. You are a team player and have a naturally supportive and engaging manner. You demonstrate accountability, excellence and integrity in all that you do and are committed to delivering the best in patient care and safety.
You will have:
- An AMC-recognised Australian medical degree or completion of both parts Australian Medical Council exams (or equivalent)
- Current general registration with AHPRA (or equivalent)
- PGY3 or greater. However, PGY2 may be considered depending on experience
- 2 years’ experience in an Australian hospital system as an AHPRA registered doctor (or equivalent)
