Job Description
Exciting part time fixed-term opportunity for a Grade 1 or 2 Social Worker looking to build on their healthcare experience.
We are now seeking expressions of interest for 2 x part time fixed-term positions (until 30 June 2024), with the possibility of extension, to join our incredible team at Epworth!
One opportunity being 15.2 hours per week & primarily located at our Camberwell and Brighton sites one day each, with the possibility of a requirement to provide cover at Richmond and Hawthorn. Our other opportunity being offered at 26.6 hours per week, primarily located at Richmond.
As a Social Worker with Epworth, you will provide a high standard of clinical services to inpatients, outpatients and their families. Clinical responsibilities will include undertaking comprehensive psycho-social assessments, family work and discharge planning.
Located on the Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) ward, this is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience with TAC compensable patients in a highly specialised and supportive multi-disciplinary team environment. You will contribute to the assessment, rehabilitation and care planning for patients with complex needs following an ABI. Additionally, you will provide extensive family / carer and patient engagement on issues relating to psychosocial impacts, grief and loss, adjustment to change of function.
With on-site support from the ABI Senior Social Worker as well as access to ongoing professional development opportunities & links to our wider team within our Epworth network, this is a fantastic opportunity not to be missed!
Epworth Rehabilitation Social Workers are sometimes required to provide cover across our rehabilitation sites located in Richmond, Camberwell, Brighton and Hawthorn.

To be successful in this role you will have:
- Bachelor or Masters of Social Work
- Eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
- A minimum of one (for Grade 1 applicants) or two years (Grade 2 applicants) of relevant social work experience in a hospital, rehabilitation or other healthcare setting
- Extensive skills, enthusiasm and commitment to your work and embrace the opportunity to contribute to the positive culture at Epworth HealthCare
- Well-developed expertise in assessment, intervention and discharge planning
