Job Description
The primary responsibility of this position is to support the leadership team in the development and rollout of the safety initiatives. The role will see you as consulting partner to the Hospital Executive Team and work collaboratively to roll our safety programs. You will be responsible for proactively promoting a culture of safety and wellbeing for our Epworth Eastern facility, as well as driving the health, safety, and wellbeing strategy. Other locations in Melbourne will necessitate travel, while reporting to the Group Director of Health, Safety, and Wellbeing.
You will make an impact by:
- Proactively promoting a culture of safety and wellbeing
- Influencing site level executive teams to drive the strategic health and safety direction
- Partner with various units to assess and implement safety initiatives and training
- Initiate and coordinating the delivery of wellbeing and safety programs
- Collaborating with the Group Safety and Wellbeing team to create and implement beneficial initiatives
- Influencing a reduction in compensation claims and loss time injuries
To be successful in this role:
Your strong stakeholder engagement and management experience across diverse groups will see you coach, influence, and manage work relationships to ensure our people have a safety-first mindset. A collaborative and customer-first focus are how you approach supporting your clients as you advise and guide them on better practice legislative and organisational protocols. You enjoy working autonomously whilst being supported by, and collaborating with a broader team of health, safety, and wellbeing professionals.
You will have:
- Demonstrated generalist experience in health, safety, and wellbeing and training
- Experience in influencing a health and safety function in a medium to large organisation
- Demonstrated experience in risk management and conducting investigations
- Practical experience in the development and delivery of OHS hazards and risk mitigation strategies
