Job Description

The primary purpose of this role is to collaborate with the Head of HR to support Product & Technology leaders in developing and executing a people strategy that enhances the effectiveness, performance, and engagement of the function. This role will be accountable for delivering people impacting initiatives and organisational change.  Focusing on global consistency in deliverables, designing and implementing an optimum organisation with functional specific tailoring – (what you deliver vs how you deliver).

What you will do

Talent (performance, potential, succession planning, etc.)  

  • Act as a consultant and advisor on talent review and discussions held throughout the year 

  • Work with Head of HR, Product & Tech and wider people team to deliver talent strategy set by the central talent team 

  • Implement succession and development planning for ‘star’ talent, working alongside the Head of HR 

  • Facilitate growth and exposure activities for up-and-coming under-represented talent 

  • Direct People Partnering expertise to managers experiencing employee attraction, development, and retention issues to diagnose and problem solve.​ 

  • Act as the conduit between functional leaders and People COEs. Champion the development of our People Products by actively soliciting and incorporating the needs and perspectives of functional leaders. Foster a collaborative environment to identify areas for improvement and drive solutions that maximize the positive impact on our people.​ 

Future Org Planning 

  • Work in partnership with your business leader and their team to design an organisation which will deliver on their long-term strategy  

  • Use parameters and frameworks provided by the central OD team for consistent approach across functions where possible, while also providing flexible guidance to the business 

  • Work with Resourcing partner to build pipeline for future skills and capabilities, while planning for increased representation of under-represented talent 

Coaching of Leaders 

  • Coach and challenge functional leaders to continuously and accurately assess current and future workforce needs to inform workforce planning. 

  • Build and maintain strong strategic people partner relationships with functional leaders (typically L3) to achieve shared goals.​ 

  • Proactively apply strategic insight, challenge and thought leadership to help build leadership capability and high performing, agile teams.

Employee Experience 

  • Works with leader to consider listening strategy feedback, group values and behaviours, and overall organisational health, to design and drive initiatives that will ensure the business is amplifying the company culture 

  • Partner with functional leaders to build an inclusive culture where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to contribute their best work.​ 

Reward 

  • Act as a consultant and advisor on compensation related issues throughout the year, as well as policy updates to align to market changes 

  • Work with the central Reward team to deliver annual activities e.g. ASR and Bonus 

Change and Transformation 

  • Deliver functional change programmes, working end to end with all stakeholders and Centres of Expertise, while incorporating external best practice.

Qualifications

  • Ideally CIPD qualified and Degree educated, although candidates with relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Experience of working within an Ulrich business partner model and within a matrix model
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, and an ability to adapt both style and approach
  • Ability to handle complex issues and a capability to make sound judgement decisions in time pressured situations.
  • Ability to use data and insight to influence and make decisions
  • Good commercial acumen
  • Ability to plan, organise and effectively multitask
  • Strong technical generalist
