As a Senior Specialist - Performance & Reward Partnering, a pivotal position within our Performance & Reward stream, you will deliver expert remuneration consulting and portfolio support across dedicated business units and corporate teams.

Acting as a trusted advisor to People Partners and line managers, you will play a leading role in executing cyclical performance and reward reviews, role benchmarking, and variable incentive plan management. 

You will ensure that our remuneration practices remain competitive, equitable, and executed in alignment with internal frameworks and regulatory standards.

Here's a snapshot of the responsibilities:

  • Provide trusted guidance, advisory support, and subject matter expertise to People Partners and business leaders regarding day-to-day performance and reward queries.
  • Play an active, leading role in front-facing cyclical activities for annual salary reviews, assisting with leader upskilling, delivering learning materials, and managing exceptions and corrections.
  • Execute complex role benchmarking and job evaluations using established methodologies (such as Hays or Korn Ferry) to support organisational design, internal equity, and talent offers.
  • Manage and govern localised variable reward plans and Short-Term Incentive Plans, ensuring accurate performance calculations and alignment with corporate framework metrics.
  • Utilise data and analytics to make practical recommendations on merit matrix applications and salary distribution. 
  • Review Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) analytics and pay equity insights at a business unit level to proactively address remuneration anomalies.
  • Partner with Employee Relations and legal specialists to ensure localised salary bands and offer structures comply with relevant modern awards, enterprise agreements, and Australian legislation.
  • Contribute operational expertise to strategic initiatives, assisting with the business-unit deployment of the new Job Family Architecture and job-based salary ranges.
  • Collaborate with the Performance & Reward Solutions team on system readiness testing, data governance, and responding to Tier 2 remuneration escalations.
  • Maintain and update reward knowledge articles and policies on the People Portal to build leadership capability.

Qualifications

Now let’s talk about you: 

  • You bring a minimum of 4+ years of experience within a specialised corporate Reward or Compensation Centre of Excellence.
  • Demonstrated success providing timely, practical performance and reward advice to business leaders.
  • Experience supporting complex retail, hospitality, or FMCG business units operating under mixed enterprise agreements.
  • Relevant tertiary degree qualifications in HR, Business/Commerce, or a related field.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel or Google Sheets (including lookups, formulas, pivot tables, and data modeling), backed by in-depth reporting and analytical abilities using large data sets.
  • Strong understanding of reward frameworks, job evaluation methodologies (e.g., Hays or Korn Ferry), and external market data principles. 
  • Familiarity with enterprise HRIS platforms such as SAP SuccessFactors is required.
  • Confident and professional communication skills to translate complex remuneration concepts into clear solutions for non-technical managers and stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail, strict compliance adherence, and uncompromising discretion handling sensitive data.
  • Prior experience assisting with the rollout or pilot of major structural reward changes (such as a new Job Family Architecture), is desirable.
  • Hands-on involvement with system configuration and testing in SAP SuccessFactors, is desirable.
  • Experience contributing to enterprise incentive scheme reviews is desirable.
