Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead large-scale application migration initiatives to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The successful candidate will work directly with customers to define migration strategies, design target-state architectures, manage cross-functional delivery teams, and ensure the successful execution of cloud transformation programs. This role requires a strong combination of technical leadership, stakeholder management, project governance, risk management, and cloud migration expertise.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience delivering enterprise-scale cloud migration projects, working with geographically distributed teams, and engaging with senior customer stakeholders. Fluency in Cantonese is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with customers and lead application migration initiatives to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Define migration strategies, including lift-and-shift and modernization approaches, and establish target-state architectures.
  • Design target-state architectures covering application, data, integration, infrastructure, security, and operational layers.
  • Lead cross-functional technical teams, including cloud engineers, database engineers, and other specialists across multiple geographies.
  • Drive automation for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, deployment processes, and testing activities.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customer stakeholders and provide regular executive-level updates.
  • Embed security, compliance, governance, and operational requirements into solution design and delivery.
  • Manage technical dependencies throughout the migration lifecycle and ensure alignment across workstreams.
  • Identify technical risks and issues early, develop mitigation strategies, and track them through to resolution.
  • Govern delivery quality, risk management processes, and automation best practices.
  • Develop, monitor, and control project schedules, ensuring milestones are achieved on time and dependencies are effectively managed.
  • Coordinate testing activities, migration cutovers, and post-migration validation with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Facilitate governance forums, project reviews, steering committee meetings, and status reporting.

Deliverables

The key deliverable is to provide qualified and experienced Associate Personnel for the duration of the Work Order (WO), ensuring successful planning, execution, governance, and completion of the migration program.

1. Project Setup & Governance

  • Define project scope, objectives, and success metrics.
  • Establish stakeholder RACI matrix.
  • Develop communication and reporting plans.
  • Implement governance framework and meeting cadence.

2. Planning & Readiness

  • Produce detailed migration roadmap and project timeline.
  • Develop resource plans and budget forecasts.
  • Lead daily stand-ups with delivery teams.
  • Facilitate regular Steering Committee (SteerCo) meetings and reporting.

3. Execution & Control

  • Provide weekly project status updates and milestone tracking.
  • Maintain risk and issue logs with mitigation actions.
  • Manage change requests and scope tracking.
  • Produce budget reports and forecast-to-complete analysis.
  • Coordinate testing phases with relevant stakeholders and delivery teams.

4. Validation & Handover

  • Deliver migration runbooks and testing reports.
  • Conduct post-migration validation and performance assessments.
  • Complete operations handover and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure knowledge transfer to operational and support teams.

5. Closure & Review

  • Deliver final project report covering cost, schedule, scope, and outcomes.
  • Produce lessons learned and benefits realization reports.
  • Obtain formal project sign-off from stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present executive summary and closure documentation.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience leading large-scale cloud migration and modernization programs.
  • Strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and cloud transformation initiatives.
  • Experience managing geographically distributed technical teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management and customer engagement skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in project governance, risk management, and delivery oversight.
  • Experience coordinating application, infrastructure, database, and testing workstreams.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex enterprise environment.
  • Fluent Cantonese and English communication skills are mandatory.
