Job Description
The Accountant will support accounting activities as part of a Vietnam-based Regional Accounting Hub. The role will initially focus on Australian accounting activities, including payment support, reconciliations, journal preparation, month-end close tasks, documentation, and basic compliance support. Over time, the role may support other APAC entities as the regional accounting model develops.
The role is suited to someone with some accounting experience, strong English communication, good attention to detail, and a strong willingness to learn and develop.
Key responsibilities
Accounting operations
- Prepare routine journals and accounting entries under guidance.
- Support payment processing and related documentation.
- Assist with bank, balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations.
- Support month-end close activities, including preparation of schedules and basic variance checks.
- Assist with accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, payroll-related accounting, AP, AR, intercompany, cash management or other GL activities as required.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
Controls, compliance and audit support
- Follow Endava accounting policies, procedures and internal control requirements.
- Perform basic data checks to identify errors, missing information or unusual items.
- Escalate issues or inconsistencies to senior team members in a timely manner.
- Support compliance activities where required.
- Assist with audit requests by preparing documentation and retrieving supporting evidence.
Learning, collaboration and regional support
- Work closely with Australia Finance, Vietnam Finance, shared service teams and other finance colleagues.
- Learn Endava systems, accounting processes, close calendar and control requirements.
- Support ad hoc reporting, analysis and finance improvement activities.
- Build technical accounting knowledge through on-the-job learning and professional development.
- Support future transition of accounting activities for other APAC entities where required.
Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline, or currently studying towards one.
- Ideally 1–3 years’ experience in accounting, finance, audit, shared services or a related role.
- Good understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Strong written and verbal English communication.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic to intermediate Excel skills.
- Able to follow procedures, meet deadlines and ask questions when guidance is needed.
- Strong willingness to learn and develop in accounting.
- Interest in Undertaking or completed CPA, ACCA or equivalent qualification.
Desirable
- Exposure to journal entries, reconciliations, AP, AR, payroll, fixed assets, payments or month-end close.
- Experience in a multinational company, audit firm, BPO or shared services environment.
- Experience with Oracle or another ERP.
