Job Description

Assists the Controller in establishing and maintaining internal controls, including operational controls and Sarbanes Oxley compliance; preparing schedules and supporting technical documentation for external and internal audits; performing management review of financial reports and supporting journal entries, analysis, documentation, reconciliations, and GAAP compliance; cost accounting management; assist in establishing annual operating plan (AOP), weekly / monthly forecasting,  and provide management overview for AR, AP, and Payroll.   

Principal Responsibilities: 

1.    Assist in the preparation and maintenance of ESA’s accounting systems and financial control procedures for all accounting activities related to Sarbanes Oxley Compliance. 

2.    Review financial statements and supporting schedules and analysis to ensure GAAP compliance, reasonableness of estimates, and clear documentation of management review of the financial reports and supporting schedules.

3.    Research technical accounting issues for GAAP compliance.

4.    Oversee the cost accounting functions and interface with Operations / Engineering for annual standard cost roll

5.    Assist with review of monthly journal entries and reconciliations.

6.  Coordinate interim and final financial and Sarbanes Oxley audits with outside and internal auditors.

7.    Identify and implement process improvements and work with IT as required to utilize technology for improvement efforts.

8.    Provide coaching and management overview for AR, AP, and Payroll as required.

9.    Assist in establishing annual operating plan, and submission of weekly & monthly forecasts.

10.    Perform special projects as required.

 

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance and 10+years’ related experience to be proficient in the above areas.

A Masters degree in business administration or accreditation such as CPA license is strongly preferred. Public accounting experience is highly valued.  

Requires strong analytical, technology, communication and organizational skills.
