Job Description
ROLE
- Support the design and delivery of landscape and public-realm projects across all RIBA stages under supervision.
- Produce accurate drawings, visuals, and technical documentation in accordance with company standards.
- Develop creative, technical, and digital design skills through active participation in project work.
- Contribute to a collaborative, high-quality studio environment by learning from senior team members and applying feedback.
DESIGN & DOCUMENTATION SUPPORT
- Assist in preparing landscape drawings, 3D models, reports, and presentation materials.
- Translate design direction and redlines from senior staff into clear, accurate documentation.
- Maintain drawing accuracy, layer discipline, and proper file naming in accordance with QA/QC procedures.
- Contribute to planting, material, and sustainability research.
- Support internal coordination with architecture, structure, and MEP teams by producing clearly referenced layouts and sections.
- Participate in design reviews, contributing creative ideas and visual support.
TECHNICAL & DIGITAL COMPETENCE
- Use AutoCAD, Revit LA, Civil 3D, and Adobe Creative Suite proficiently for design and documentation tasks.
- Support model setup, drawing extraction, and updates within BIM 360 or shared platforms.
- Adhere to company CAD and BIM standards, templates, and file-management procedures.
- Learn and apply 3D visualisation, rendering, and diagramming tools.
- Demonstrate initiative in improving personal speed, accuracy, and digital literacy.
PROFESSIONAL & COMMERCIAL AWARENESS
- Understand assigned tasks, deliverables, and associated deadlines.
- Track task completion time and maintain awareness of resource constraints.
- Recognise the relationship between design effort, fee budgets, and project milestones.
- Contribute to efficient task delivery and responsible use of company resources.
QUALITY & SUSTAINABILITY
- Follow internal QA/QC checklists for all drawings before submission.
- Maintain accuracy to reduce rework and ensure alignment with senior feedback.
- Integrate sustainability, planting, and water-efficiency principles into design work.
- Participate in team research or design discussions on climate-responsive and resilient design.
LEARNING, MENTORSHIP & TEAM CONTRIBUTION
- Actively participate in mentoring sessions and apply feedback constructively.
- Maintain a personal CPD / learning record as part of professional development.
- Support a positive team culture based on respect, curiosity, and accountability.
- Collaborate openly with peers, seniors, and other disciplines in delivering coordinated outputs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture (preferred).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and at least one 3D or BIM tool (Revit LA, Civil 3D, Rhino, or SketchUp).
- Strong design and graphic communication skills.
- Understanding of sustainability principles, planting design, and material coordination.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, follow direction, and maintain design quality.
