Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Project Controls Planning Engineer to join our team in Cairo, Egypt. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing project schedules, budgets, and control systems to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using industry-standard planning methodologies and software tools
  • Perform cost estimation, budget tracking, and Earned Value Management (EVM) analysis to monitor project financial performance
  • Analyze project data and metrics to identify variances, trends, and potential risks, then prepare detailed control reports and dashboards for management review
  • Establish and manage project baselines while supporting change management processes by evaluating the impact of scope changes on schedule and budget
  • Conduct risk analysis and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project impacts
  • Monitor project progress against established KPIs and recommend corrective actions as needed
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate data collection, timely reporting, and effective communication of project status and forecasts to senior management and stakeholders

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum 7+ years of extensive experience in project controls, planning, and scheduling within construction, engineering, or related industries
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale, complex projects
  • Advanced proficiency with enterprise project management software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent tools
  • Expert-level knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) principles and advanced applications in project performance analysis
  • Demonstrated expertise in schedule development, cost estimation, budget management, and financial forecasting
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities with proven ability to interpret complex project data and drive data-informed decision-making
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and lead cross-functional project control teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English with demonstrated ability to present complex information to senior management and executive stakeholders
  • Expert knowledge of baseline development, change control, configuration management, risk analysis, and governance processes
  • In-depth knowledge of construction industry standards, best practices, and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Professional certification in project management (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) is highly desirable
