Job Description
EGIS is currently looking for a highly skilled Autodesk Civil 3D focused Civil BIM engineer / designer us deliver multi-disciplinary projects. The role is expected to lead the BIM modelling for civil disciplines i.e. roads, highways, drainage and surfaces, as well help with setup, training and development of civil 3D along the project BIM leads. This role is not limited to just BIM modelling tasks only and is heavily focused on Autodesk Civil 3D implementation and development as well.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and develop 2D drawings and 3D BIM/CAD models for roads, highways, and associated civil infrastructure projects.
- Produce general arrangement drawings, horizontal and vertical alignments, long sections, cross-sections, typical sections, grading layouts, junction layouts, and detailed design drawings.
- Support the preparation of concept, preliminary, detailed design, tender, authority submission, and IFC deliverables.
- Extract drawings, schedules, and model outputs from coordinated digital models in accordance with project requirements.
- Develop models and drawings for urban roads, highways, interchanges, junction improvements, service roads, access roads, and complete street corridors.
- Prepare road alignments, profiles, assemblies, corridors, surfaces, and grading models using appropriate CAD/BIM tools.
- Support the modelling of pavement layers, kerb lines, road markings, signage layouts, verge elements, and roadside features where required.
- Assist in the development of earthworks models, cut-and-fill interfaces, and surface coordination for road infrastructure.
- Produce design documentation related to carriageways, roundabouts, intersections, slip roads, median arrangements, footpaths, cycle tracks, and at-grade infrastructure elements.
- Use AutoCAD and Civil 3D to develop road models integrated with corridor geometry, grading, surfaces, and utility interfaces.
- Assist with corridor creation, assembly application, target mapping, section generation, and model-based drawing extraction.
- Produce and update cross-sections, volume calculations, levels, and earthworks-related outputs.
- Support quantity-related outputs and material take-offs where required for road and civil works packages.
- Coordinate with utilities, drainage, structures, transport planning, landscape, and other disciplines to resolve interface issues and clashes.
- Participate in model reviews and clash detection using Navisworks and other coordination tools.
- Maintain model integrity, drawing accuracy, and compliance with project BIM execution plans and delivery standards.
- Incorporate design changes and mark-ups from engineers and project leaders in a timely and accurate manner.
- Apply project and company CAD/BIM standards, naming conventions, templates, layering protocols, and LOD requirements.
- Ensure deliverables are produced in line with client requirements, UAE authority standards, and project-specific drafting conventions.
- Support QA/QC reviews and implement review comments efficiently and accurately.
- Maintain consistency across drawing sets, model files, sheet outputs, and revision control processes.
Qualifications
Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited University.
- Minimum 5+ years Civil 3D experience added with automation such dynamo civil connection within depth working knowledge of current Civil 3D versions; Proficient in CAD design 2D/3D (AutoCAD and Civil 3D).
- Prepare and develop 2D drawings and 3D BIM/CAD models for roads, highways, and associated civil infrastructure projects.
