Job Description

We're looking for a proactive Senior Drafter to join our Canberra team. Reporting into the Lead Drafter and working alongside Designers and Engineers, this role is well suited to someone looking to maximise their technical capability within a collaborative, professional environment. The primary purpose of this role is to provide effective and efficient drafting services and assist in the production of schematic drawings, primarily for urban development projects, locally and nationally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise closely with Project Managers, Engineers and Design teams to produce drawings delivered on time, on budget and to client specifications
  • Prepare and review drawings to ensure compliance with drafting standards and specifications
  • Present drawings to internal teams, clients and consultants, and prepare amendments as required
  • Provide technical drafting input and contribute to design on a variety of civil and urban development projects
  • Provide technical leadership and mentor drafting staff to ensure project capabilities are achieved in an effective and timely manner.
  • Coordinate drafters to assist with work projects and oversee drawings to ensure work is being carried out effectively.
  • Support project documentation and undertake administrative tasks related to drawing production

Qualifications

Ideally, you will have a minimum of 10+ years’ experience in drafting within a consultancy environment with demonstrated knowledge of land development projects. In addition, you will also have:

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering or other relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Sound understanding of drafting principles and civil design documentation
  • Solid working knowledge of AutoCAD / 12D
  • Experience working within a quality management system
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, delivering high quality drawings and work
  • Good written and verbal communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
